After years of thinking about it, I'm so happy to finally have an official website for LGP! Lily Girl has been on Etsy since 2009 and after years of sort of, kind of, working the business while raising my two sweet kiddos, Ethan and Lily, I am now working pretty much full time to build it into something really special! The kids were only 6 and 2 when I started all those years ago and they are now awesome teenagers who don't need mom quite as much as they used to. (Insert smiling/crying emoji!) Now that I have all this free time, I'm happy to spend my days creating beautiful paper goods templates and downloads for other moms, both young and not as young (we aren't old!), to help them celebrate special occasions, add a special touch to a gift, spread cheer to those in their circle, and so much more.
MY CUSTOMERS ARE THE HEART OF THIS BUSINESS!
For the longest time the store had just a couple of hundred listings, but over the course of the last few years that number has grown to nearly 1150, and grows more every week with new designs! Near the end of 2021 I hit a huge goal of 10,000 sales, and almost as if it were a dream, at the beginning of 2023 I have more than doubled that number for over 22,500 sales! I could have NEVER done this without the support of so many loyal customers who come back time and time again to let me help them with their paper good and party needs! So, if you are one of those fabulous repeat customers, THANK YOU!!! Thank you for your loyalty, for spreading the word about my small business and leaving awesome reviews, and for sharing your products on social media! I owe it all to YOU!
SWITCHING TO EDITABLE TEMPLATES
In 2020 I made a major change in my Etsy store, shifting from editing digital files and emailing them to my customers, over to a new online template platform, Corjl.com. I found that customers loved being able to edit and download themselves, especially in a pinch so they didn't have to wait a day or two until I could turn their order around. And with so many people using digital invitation sites like Evite and Paperless Post, this felt like a natural next step.
Corjl makes it incredibly easy to quickly edit the details of your file and download. No special software or fonts needed. Best of all you can edit on either a computer or a mobile device!
**Don't worry, for those of you who still love a printed invitation, like me, you can print at home or a local print shop. I also offer help with the editing and printing anytime a customer needs it; just ask!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR LGP?
For 2023 I have 3 main goals:
1) Create a website, check!
2) Start an email list to reach my customers more consistently, almost check at the time of this writing!
3) Start a new arm of my business, surface pattern design. Think of all the things you own that have a pattern on them; fabric, notebooks, gift wrap, bedding, wallpaper—this is surface pattern design! More to come on this in future posts.
